Is it really 2015?!

Well, it's official I haven't blogged in two years.. Fail!
I've now got two kiddos! Abby's four and Jacob will be 9 months in a few days. Wow how time has flown! So many amazing things have transpired in the past two years it would take hours to list them all.
A few highlights: We welcomed the birth of our baby boy, Jacob Michael Jiminez on April 14th, 2014. Weighing in at a shocking 11 pounds. 😳 Don't worry... I had a c-section. Lol. That giant baby was not coming out! A week and a day overdue, the doctor gave him his eviction notice.
Abigail turned four! She is the most joyful, crazy, silly, loving, stop and smell the roses, singer, actress little girl you'll ever meet! Beyond blessed to be her momma. She's a mountain mover if I've ever met one. Excited to see where the Lord was going to take her.
We took and awesome family trip with my mom and step dad to the Midwest. We visited my brother and grandparents. Nebraska and Missouri were a great change for this so Cal family. And let me just say, traveling with two kids in several different airports was quite the challenge. (We will be driving next time around, that's for sure!)
My husband quit his job and started his own business full time!  We are blown away at the favor and provision the Lord has given us. We serve a great God and He continues to amaze us with His plans for our lives.
I've launched a Doulos littles line. Cute jewelry for little girls.
I've had the opportunity to sell my jewelry and crafts at different venues this past year and many more this coming year! A last from RAW OC, homegrown artists contacted me about being a vendor at one of their events in February. I applied and I'll be there! Huge opportunity to share my jewelry with a new group of people and an awesome chance to be a light in a dark place. Lord use me! Basic info is, February 6th, Yost theater in Santa Ana 6pm-10pm $15 pre sale tickets or $20 at the door.
Like I said so many things to list, these are just a few. Thanks to all those who have prayed for this little business called Doulos Jewelry, God heard your prayers and is moving us into new territory! So here's to 2015, lets shine bright, move some mountains, have some fun, grow in love and generosity and shoot for the moon.
Blessings to you and yours,
Ashley

Change is Good!

I'm pleased to announce that Doulos Jewelry, is not just jewelry anymore! Along with my obsession of making jewelry, which I totally love.... I have entered the beautiful world of re-purposing and re-cycling old items into new items that can be used for something of value, rather than just collecting dust on my shelves and driving my husband nuts. :) This is a beautiful thing. Minus the fact that I'm yard saling every Saturday morning I possibly can, ha! But, it's so worth it! Along with that, I've found a sweet spot in my heart for vintage items, oh so sweet finds and cute things to fix up are a must have now a days! Oh yes, and I can't forget my deep love for succulents, I just can't get enough of them.

I've had the beautiful blessing of becoming a vendor at The Barn in Corona, which is a seasoned inspired market place. A must stop shop for all your seasonal needs, decor, clothes and accessories. 816 Park Lane, Corona Ca. I will post the next Barn when the time gets close, plan for fall and winter.

Along with The Barn, Doulos will be at the Lovely Market, Thursday August 1st, 1pm to 7pm at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside Ca. This event is hosting several local crafters and vendors. A MUST visit experience visit for all you ladies, as well as the men, get those Christmas presents early!  (Wink, Wink..) Come snack, eat, mingle, SHOP and have fun.

Sneak Peek

WOW, it's October! Where has the year gone! Time flies, Crazy I tell ya!!

I'm sitting here thinking, dang it's been along time since I've blogged I should do something about that. So here we go!
I now have a Facebook for Doulos Jewelry, click here to see, http://www.facebook.com/DoulosJewelry   or you could just check out my Facebook and see the Doulos as well. Etsy is up and running with more designs and items to be posted this month, just in time for Christmas shopping.

This last year has been very stretching for me and my little family, the Jiminez Tribe. We have been through quite a bit, good, bad, God glorifying, confusing, challenging, exciting, heartbreaking, joyful and down right faith testing. It's so beautiful to look back and see ALL that God has done, even the hard things. He truly does work all things for our good, even when it hurts. Just as a loving father will correct the error his child makes, so God does the same to us because of His great love for us. Praise God! Lots of changes in the near future, exciting and scary but looking ahead I have confidence that my God will supply all things according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus. For the seasons to come, cheers, bring it on! Stay tuned for more details, encouragement and challenges for you and your faith. May God be glorified, amen.

A Prayer of Faith

After a very long break, I am back to the blog!
Isn't it funny how we pray for things and then they happen and we can't believe that it happened even though we were praying for it TO happen...? Hmmm, reminds me of the Apostle Peter in the book of Acts chapter 12.

Peter was in prison, King Herod Agrippa had put him there. He was persecuting the Christians to keep the Jewish people happy and his throne secure. The church, aka Faith Community, was praying for Peter. Praying for God's will, for his safety, to be freed from prison and more! Then all of a sudden, "knock, knock, knock..." on the door. One of the girls goes to the door to see who it is. And can you believe it, it's Peter! Without even thinking or opening the door, she runs back to the rest on the people in the house leaving Peter outside. Exclaiming that, "Peter is at the door, come quick!" And you know what, NO one believed her... They said she was crazy, it's impossible, how could that be, and on and on. Until finally they all came to the door and let him in. Seeing for themselves and praising God with great joy and cheers of victory!

God sent an angel to Peter in prison, his chains were loosed and he was freed. Freed from the two guard he was chained to and the 14 guards that were standing watch, the heavy iron gate was opened, and he safely arrived at his church families house. Wow, God did ALL that to free Peter; and what's funny is the church was praying for that specifically! Yet when it happened they didn't believe it was real, they called the girl who greeted him at the door crazy. It seems they didn't really believe what they were praying. They knew God could do it, but when it actually happened they couldn't believe it was true. Again, they didn't truly believe what they were praying.

Ever find yourself doing the same thing?! Crying out to God for and answer, a healing, a financial need, salvation for a friend or loved one, then it happens and your'e like, "No way, that could NOT have just happened..." But it did, God did. A great reminder of God's faithfulness to hear and answer our prayers, even when we are struggling with unbelief. So what is it your'e praying for? Are you expecting God to move when you pray or just praying because that's just what you do?! I challenge you, pray with expectancy and NOT with doubt. The book of James says, "But let him ask in faith with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double minded man, unstable in all his ways." (James 1:6-8) So, my friend reading this, ask in FAITH! God is able, be ready for wonders!

Those off days.

Everyone has them, even the best of us. Off days.... Sleepless nights, sick baby, sick mommy, bad dreams that wake us up, crisis phone call that you were not expecting... And the list goes on.

So what do we do? Warren Wiersbe has a few pointers. Christian service isnt based on feelings, its based on obedience. Its the matter of the will and not the feelings. When we are motivated by our feelings we can be very undependable. We must endure hardship like a good soldier of Christ. 2 Timothy 2:3. Others are depending on us, the greatest ability is dependability. You have got to make up your mind that you are going to serve God, no matter what or how you feel. That way you can stop debating with yourself everytime you dont "feel like" doing something.

God already knew the off day was coming, He knows your life begining to end. So take the pressure off yourself, ask Him for the help and move forward! His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Cor 12:9.

Keep that most vital appointment of each and every day: spending time alone with the Lord. He will refresh and strengthen you. So when those days come, whatever you do, dont sit around and feel sorry for yourself! Remember, this too shall pass! Give it to God!

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day" 2 Cor 4:16.
Day by day, even the off days!

Thanks God!
More to come, new jewelry in the works, and hair stuff too!

Pushing through.

Sometimes you just need a good kick in the pants/butt. More like a very intense reminder that you (mostly me) need to do the job you have been asked/called to do. It's not that you don't want to do your job, however more like you need a reminder that you need to do it. So, with that said... Do your job! What has God called you to do? Whats in your hand? What talents and gifts has God given you to use to bless others, bring Him glory and share your faith?! Well, what are they? Go pray about. Then do something about it!
God made you for His glory and His praise. Every hair on your head He knows, every tear you have ever or will ever cry. He knew you before you were ever born, in your mothers womb, right now and in eternity, He knows you better than you know you! He made YOU! So don't think for one minute that you aren't ready for your job. God has prepared and equipped you/me for every good work, that we should walk in them. Amen. Let's do our job. :)
